Ways to Overcome Self-Doubt : Not my thing

“Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.”
William Shakespeare

Self-doubt can be a troubling and persuasive voice that holds you back. It holds you back from seizing your opportunities. It makes getting started or finishing things harder than they need to be.

It can sometimes be useful as it helps you to soberly see your current limitations or simply recognize a half-baked or bad idea. But mostly, it holds you back in life.

So how can you get around that, how can you overcome those times of self-doubt so that you can move forward once again?

Even I don’t know. But I try to follow few things when I start doubting myself.

  • First, List down why you are free. Because of free time, inner doubts bubble up. So try to get works in this free time or talk with your family and friends.
  • Look to the past and awash yourself in the memories. Be real with yourself and ask yourself.
  • Make a list of your goals. The goals that you want to achieve. Nothing comes without effort. The easiest goal that you can achieve take it in the first of that list. Start working to achieve that. It will give your confidence back. When you’ve taken one small step forward and you’re done with it then you have a win. It may be a small one but it’s still a win. So celebrate it.
  • Talk to someone about your sorrows. When you keep your thoughts on the inside they can become distorted, exaggerated and not very much in line with reality or reasonable expectations.
  • Don’t compare yourself with others. Not every human is same. He/she gave the effort to get it. If it is your goal then try it otherwise leave it. A comparison will not give you anything except sorrow.
  • When you worry about what others may think or say if you do something then the self-doubt can quickly become stronger and you get stuck in inaction and in fear. Remember: those who are successful don’t care that much about what you do or say. So why you are bothered about it?

Those are my personal tricks and I try to follow when my inner doubts bubble up. Till now It worked for me.

    Hello ,

I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.

I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive.
Can you recommend something what works best for you?

Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve: http://janzac.com/
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)

I wanted to subscribe to your newsletter, but I couldn’t find it. Do you have it?

Hope to hear from you soon.

    P.S.
Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?

    Regards
    Jan Zac

      Hi,
Jan Zac, Thank you for your compliments. I am also glad to see your interest in my blog. I am not a blogger in the profession. But I am trying to introduce myself and my findings to others. This why I started writing it.

I am also happy to see your website which is nice and have some amazing contents.

AdSense and Facebook Ads are very expensive for personal sites. I can suggest you make your website more SEO friendly. Here is an article you can follow it https://www.business2community.com/seo/7-tricks-make-web-design-seo-friendly-0877501
Also can suggest you make some interesting topic but in short it will attract the lazy audience. It will better if you can use fan page and other social media with organic coverage.

It will be my pleasure if I use your website link on my website. But it will take few days because My website is not yet ready and I have a full-time job to do. So I am using my free times to upgrade it. I am planning to make it more UX friendly. So there will be a lot of change in near future.

I don’t have any newsletter yet as I said there are a lot of things to do here on my website. I will definitely introduce a subscription option.

      Regards
      Rafi
